These messages are made to scare you into downloading and paying for worthless protection or even worse installing on your computer malware that is designed to steal your personal information.
1. Don't download any software from an unknown source on the internet.

3. Make sure you install all security updates for your operating system.
4. Avoid opening attachments or clicking on links to documents in e-mail or instant messages that are received from an unknown source.
